Hey there, I've rechecked stuff and wikia doesn't allow this actually. That's pretty bad. I guess you could make a G-drive folder and link it to the posted preview-pictures of maps (so once you click on an image, you get redirected), I guess that's the only way, unfortunately. :(
I will add you/send an invitation (in case you won't be on discord for the rest of the day: https://discord.gg/pXK6bWu). You can upload them all in the #maps section! Best if you done one archive and attach screenshots in the post.
I've already downloaded several BR games (and their versions) and yet I couldn't find the "lore" or even the "manual" of the game, so I am wondering where are you able to get the "lore" or the "manual"? Thanks in advance! :)
I'm pretty sure I have already answered your question about the manuals before. You made a similar post aaaand there I was.
The manuals were included along with the physical disk copies, you can still buy those off Ebay or similar sites. GOG scanned them and made digital PDF copies (you can acquire them if you buy the game off GOG), they have already been shared around though. You can find them here.
As to the "lore", it was posted long ago once BR came out, on the official BR site, by Ubi/Liquid staff members. Since then it was shared by a lot of different sites and br.cc tends to be the only one living (english) site that got it saved, aside from the wiki of course.
Here are some screenshots to convince you (You can see the "History" tabs on both of
Oh, hehe. My bad, pardon me for the redunant question (I kind of didn't notice the reply to my previous question that was similar to that above). Ok, the manual is good (thanks) but about the lore, where can I get it for free? What site in particular?
I have figured out why it is so difficult to put in unit hitpoint values. Many of the infoboxes that contain that information are templates that are difficult to edit, so you'd have to edit an existing template and input that to replace the original. For some reason, I don't think that I have access to the templates though to edit them, so this is something I currently cannot help with.
A lot of what you're currently discovering is long known by admins or editors, so if you ever have any troubles with something or need an explanation on how certain stuff works in here- let me know and I'll explain.
I'm just about to write a new blog post concerning the various infoboxes (I'm not a fan of how the current infoboxes look visually), so there's a possibility, if the community votes for it, that all the infoboxes will be remade using my type of template.
I could add the template parameters for you, but for now it's pointless due to the upcoming vote. After the vote we can decide.
Also I think the template editing was locked back during the "public" times of this wiki, to avoid unnecessary vandalism.
I'll give you the access to it later.
I should probably write a proper "manual of style", but the thing is we don't really have a well- formed style yet to write manuals about it. I'll see what I can do about it in the future.
I have three copies of Battle Realms.dat files, one from the demo & other versions before Battle Packs 3, one from Battle Packs 3 & WotW (v1.50q), & my own mod (unreleased).
Let BP3's patch note answer your question:
"Doubled most units' HP to extend battle duration, with exceptions."
And those exceptions are Infested Ones & all Heroes (only get 50% increased HP) & the Hordeling (HP remains the same).
As for resistances & weaknesses, I notice many differences between pre-BP3 versions & post BP3 versions. However, in this wiki we implicitly agree only to post information pertaining to the latest version BP3 v1.50g (original BR without WotW) & v1.50q (BR WotW).
As Knabo has already stated, there have been fixes around all of the game aspects including units' health.
We should indeed post the information (units hp included) only from the latest game version. I suggest you get 1.50q WotW off GOG or, if you want, I can dig up one of my unused accounts with just BR on it and give it to you for free.
Thank you for your continued support and information. I would indeed appreciate that information being put up on this site, as I feel it is tremendously helpful in calculating valid tactics and strategies.
@ Komikoza: I would appreciate a copy of those files, if possible. Admittedly, it has been a while since I've played this game due to my old windows system breaking down and purchasing a mac. But I'm looking to install a bootcamp on my system so that I can play this game again as it is tremendously enjoyable!
You're welcome! The hitpoints (along with weaknesses and resistances) can be found in the units' infoboxes on their pages. You can also navigate to Unit Resistance Charts for the detailed info on how the armor system works in the game. I'm currently working on the new and complete armor charts that will be easier to navigate through, and the whole article will have an info- overhaul.
Just a couple of days ago I found a MAC port of the game that is reported to work just fine!
If you use MAC, I can just link you to the YouTube video of the port author. All the additional information is in the description.
As to the original game from GOG, if you still want it, leave your e- mail so I can send the account info (once I find it, tomorrow most likely).
We've known each other for so long and there were ups and downs since (due to our zealous over-confidence to inform people about Battle Realms, but this is our similarity, rather than difference).
I hope that you will kindly increase visibility in the Table "Battle Realms Zen Masters and Characters":
I remember in the early days of this wiki that whenever I was inside any unit's page, then that unit's name would be boldened and become dark blue, signifying it to be the page's topic. But now, due to somebody's aesthetic changes, the name's become light-grey, very difficult to read & aesthetically unpleasant.
I've also learnt that as for the Table "Battle Realms Units", if the unit were the page's topic, then that unit's name'd disappear. Even though this has nothing to do with visibility, this actually means that there is no redundancy.
I am not a CS major so I do not to how to code that; but I think that if you can make it so that: if a Zen Master were a page topic, then her/his name would disappear. That'll reduce redundancy & also increase visibility.
You can take as much time as you wish. Yet if you consider my suggestion, I consider myself appreciated.
