The Archer is a unit of the Dragon Clan.
Those who train as Archers of the Dragon Clan - usually peasants with a gift for hunting - must possess many talents, the least of which is incredibly keen vision. Far from being weaklings or cowards, Archers must possess great strength of arm to draw their enormous bows, and great strength of will to hold steady as the enemy bears upon them. As long as they remain rested and calm, Archers' arrows strike with otherworldly force.
However, this deadly proficiency comes at a price. A Dragon Archer never panics or abandons his weapon, and his mighty bow makes a poor staff. Nor can he wear armor, lest it interfere with his delicate aim, or numb him to the changing winds. A lone archer on the battlefield is in a precarious situation indeed.
The humble archer is one of the best range units in the game, and will always be in any part of a Dragon battle. Groups of archers - fully upgraded with techniques (boosting their range and attack damage) and protected by melee units - can unleash serious pain, especially with their special ability to deal bonus damage in the first strike (that is, 30 piercing damage with Stoic Calm Arrow instead of Arrow, which does 16 damage). They can also be used to burn down the building of enemy villages with their Fire Arrows ability and can scout for enemy villages with their Zen Arrows.
While having no true weakness, Archers have too low health to withstand much damage from enemies, so they should be shielded and protected by tougher Dragon units.
|Requirements: Shrine||Requirements: Fireworks Factory|
|At the Shrine, an archer may literally become one with his weapons. This allows him to glimpse the area surrounding his fallen arrows. However, he must remain perfectly still to maintain such focus. Continually drains stamina when activated.||The Fireworks Factory manufactures flaming arrows that quickly reduce buildings to ashes. These tiny torches are more infuriating than dangerous to the living.|
